I was a bit too old when the books came out – I read the first one when it came out (I was 16) but was generally unimpressed. I think I saw the second movie (there was one with a giant snake? I saw that one.) HP is my one big gap in nerdy fandom culture but I feel like I’ve gathered enough through cultural osmosis that I don’t really NEED to watch and read them at this point?
Like, I get that book Ron and Ginny are different than movie Ron and Ginny, I know enough that I think Luna’s great, I know Snape kills Dumbledore for ~reasons~, Tonk is apparently super rad, etc etc.
IDK. I know this is going to sound bad. I might read them eventually.
